Wilma Jean Wilber, 83, of Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, at home. She was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Neosho, Mo., the daughter of William Howe and Mabel Elizabeth (Payne) Cook.
On June 6, 2006, Wilma married Stanley Wilber in Eureka Springs, Ark. He survives at the home. She is also survived by three sons, Rick Howard of Raymore, Mo., Randy (Sherri) Howard of Nesbit, Miss., and Russ Howard of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Kim (Rob Channell) Perez of Hays, Kan.; five step-children, Melissa Summers, Sandi Becker, Susan Collins, Sheryl Parker and Sindy Page; a brother, Tom Cook of Joplin, Mo.; a sister, Patsy Lefler of Homosassa, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Joe L. Perez
She enjoyed singing, crocheting, sewing and cleaning. Wilma liked to spend time taking care of her garden and she loved cooking for her family. She also enjoyed traveling.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.
