Obituary for Vicky Painter

Vicky Marie Painter, 67, passed away, Sunday, April 12, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 23, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., to Donald and Catherine Wiehe.

On April 30th, 1980, Vicky married the love her life, Carl William Painter, .

Vicky and Will lived on a small family farm in the outskirts of Lansing, Kan. Vicky was a cosmetologist most of her career but spent the last 12 years employed by Country Club Bank where she received several awards and considered her coworkers family. She made almost every meal from scratch and was always prepared to feed the entire town if need be. Some of her most cherished times were gathering her family around the kitchen for Sunday dinner and watching her grand babies run around the farm. She was always willing to be a listening ear and offered a lending hand whenever her friends and family needed it. Vicky was an amazing mother to her own daughters, and her selflessness and welcoming nature made many others consider her a “second mom.”

Grateful to have shared Vicky’s life is her loving husband, Carl William Painter; two daughters, Brittany (Jimmy) Swoboda and Samantha (Nick) LeBlanc; two grandchildren, Kate LeBlanc and Cole Swoboda; her mother, Catherine Wiehe; three siblings: Roger (Lana) Wiehe, Robin (Larry) Mosley and Mick Wiehe; and her extended family, friends and coworkers.

Vicky was preceded in death by her father, Donald Wiehe; and her brother, Scottie Wiehe.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
