Obituary for Thomas Jones
Thomas Darrell Jones, 77, of Leavenworth, died Friday, May 20, 2022, at KU Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1944, in Auburn, Neb., to Lester and Thelma (Petersen) Jones.
On October 9, 1970, Thomas married Eileen Marie Stricker. She survives at the home. He is also survived by three daughters, Kimberly M. (Bart) Montgomery of Lansing, Kan., Michelle L. (Matt) Graham of Clovis, Calif., and Melissa A. (Patrick) O’Carroll of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Ruth (Keith) Gilliland of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Wayne (Rose) Jones of Lakewood, Colo.; and six grandchildren, Hailey, Cooper, Chloe, Charlotte, Ryna and Caleb.
Thomas retired from the United States Army.
He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, with Pastor Cape Rust officiating.
