Obituary for Stephanie Davis

Stephanie Jo Davis, 38, of Leavenworth, passed away Aug. 4, 2020, after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 24, 1981, in Lawton, Okla., to Steve and Vickie (Barnes) Davis.

She was the child of a military family and had the opportunity to live many places across the United States including Oklahoma (twice), Georgia, Kansas (twice), Montana and Colorado.

Stephanie graduated from Pleasant Ridge High School in 2000 where she was active in the Future Business Leaders of America. Following graduation, Stephanie attended South Dakota State University in Brooking, S.D.

After college, Stephanie returned to Leavenworth and worked for the Leavenworth Times. She later began her career on Ft. Leavenworth, working in MWR, Executive Services, CAC G8 and MCTP Operations Group A.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Stephanie is survived by her father and step-mother, Steve and Cathy Davis of Leavenworth; a brother, Matthew (Kassie) Davis of Dekalb, Mo.; two step-brothers, James and Benjamin Fields; a sister-in-law, Molly Fields; five nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Reagan and Cody Davis and Benjamin and Blake Fields; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza and the St. Luke’s Hospice House for their professionalism and compassion.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Davis family for her niece and nephew’s college funds.
