Sadie Leo Robinson, 93, of Leavenworth, peacefully departed this world Sunday, July 19, 2020, at her home. She was born May 6, 1927, in Hume, Va., the daughter of Mary Brooks and Lorenzo Roberts.

After completing high school, Mary relocated to Leavenworth while serving as a nanny for a military family.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Glenn Robinson on July 4, 1947. Glenn and Sadie bore four children, Teddy (Vicki), Sherrylinn (Roy), Sylvester and Bill (Ava).

Sadie was a devoted member of Independent Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a woman of great wisdom with a passion for serving others. She served in many capacities, some were trustee, president of usher ministry and a member of the culinary ministry.

She was employed at the VA hospital for 30 years where she received numerous awards and acclamations regarding her work performance, dedication and commitment to her patients.

She leaves cherished memories with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends over the years.

The family of Sadie wish to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy, prayers and all acts of kindness extended to them during their hour of bereavement. They also wish to extend a special thanks to her adopted son, Ben Griffin, for his commitment, dedication and the love he extended in helping to care for her. He certainly brought peace, joy and comfort to her.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements in care of R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.

To To the Robinson family
We extend our sincere sympathy and prayers tom your entire family for the loss of a truly wonderful person
Your Mom was. a very important part of all our lives also and with her loss we are all very touched as well
Our families were both inter twined growing up our Mother , and your Mother the heads of both tables and the Chairwomen of the board!
May the Lord Bless you all and give you strength and her memories are everlasting
The below poem is one we all carry with when we loss our mom and we want to share with you all

Our Mom holds us in so many ways
She Carried us two hundred eighty days
Time together lessens each year
As we each of us learn to get over many fears

Each time we must say Goodbye
We expect that soon we'll be saying "Hi"
When the time comes she slips away to sleep
We pray the Lord our Savior her soul will keep

And on the day our time has come
To listen to the heavenly drum
We'll join her in new life with Him
Who's true light will shine and never dim

Cousin Sadie was like a mother to my son. When I wrote her & sent her a picture of my son & let her know he would be stationed @ Ft. Riley that was all it took. She looked out for him & they built a lasting bond. Cousin Sadie was truly loved by our family. He missed getting there for her birthday this year but there are so many memories. She will be greatly missed by the Frink’s.
