Obituary for Ruth Williams
Ruth G. Williams, 90, of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at Lansing Care and Rehab. She was born July 9, 1931, in Saeby, Denmark, the daughter of Peter Otto and Karen Margreta (Nielsen-Dyhr) Schjunk.
On April 29, 1960, Ruth married the love of her life, Harold C. Williams. He survives at the home. She is also survived by a daughter, Didi Lyn Sutherland; a son, Michael Lee (Amy) Williams; four grandchildren, Madison and Megan Williams and Jared and Justin Sutherland; a brother-in-law, Hans Henrik Bergenser; and a nephew, Soren Bergenser.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Patrick Sutherland; and three siblings, Kaja, Per and Palle.
A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2021, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
