Obituary for Roy Beaman

Roy Dale “Butch” Beaman, 75, of Leavenworth, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at the Kansas City Veterans Hospital. He was born March 14, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Allen T. and Alta M. (Neisler) Beaman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Mary Sue Daniels; four brothers; and a sister.

Butch is survived by his children, Carolyn Clayton and Brian (Denisha) Beaman; a sister, Sandy (Carlos) DeAtonago all of Leavenworth; six grandchildren, Christopher, Dennis (Megan) and Mychal (Julie) Clayton, Colon (Victoria) and Savanna Beaman, and Gabrielle (Dakota) Cook; his great-grandchildren, Cameron, Sedale, Tatyanna, Alexis, Neveah, Amaya, Serenity, Aamira, Alivia, Elijah, Mychal Jr., Amiya, Wyatt, Evelyn, Joseph, Kein, Carla and two more on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

His life and time in Leavenworth made him well known in the car business, working at many dealerships in Leavenworth over the years. Butch as also past President and lifetime member of FOE 55. After retirement, Butch volunteered his time at the Leavenworth Assistance Center. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at the R. L. Leintz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Council on Aging or the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
