She is survived by her parents; her biological father, Roscoe Gregg of Marion, S.C.; three brothers, Walter K. Bethea, Jr., of Lenexa, Kan., David Bethea of Tenafly, N.J., and Roderick Gregg of Marion, S.C.; two nephews, Walter E. Bethea III and Kingston Gregg; two nieces, Eva N. Bethea and Elisabeth A. Bethea; her paternal grandmother, Kay Francis Bethea of Teaneck, N.J.; and a host of other family members and friends to cherish and honor her memory.

Roslynn is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harvey O. and Nettie B. Mitchell; her paternal grandparents, Leroy Gregg and Carrie Gregg; and a sister, Paulicia V. Carrell.

As a military “brat” Roslynn spent time growing up in Kansas, Germany, Colorado, and California, and loved to travel whenever she was able.

Roslynn attended Leavenworth High School until the 11th grade. In high school, Roslynn played basketball as a guard/forward for the Leavenworth Pioneers. She also was on the Track Team, participating in Shot Put and Discus Throw, she excelled in both events, making it to State. She later attained a General Equivalency Diploma. Afterwards, she pursued higher education at the Kansas City Kansas Community College, Leavenworth Center.

Roslynn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. Throughout her lifetime, she attended various Christian Denominations. Most recently, while a resident at House of Ruth Discipleship Home, Topeka, KS she began following the Television and Online Ministry of Pastor Steven Furtick, Jr Founder of Elevation Church, Charlotte NC.

She faithfully paid tithes and gave offerings to various churches, and was also a charitable, cheerful giver to various people, groups, and organizations.

Roslynn’s favorite scripture is Matthew, Chapter 7:13 - 14 ‘The Narrow Way’
13 “ Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Amen

Her favorite Gospel song is ‘I Want to Say Thank You’ by Lisa Page Brooks.
While incarcerated in Topeka, KS she was enrolled in and successfully completed the Kansas Correctional Industries Seamstress Training Program as well as the Dental Assistant’s Program. She was also 1 of 15 individuals selected for The Last Mile Coding Program for Web Development Skills Training.

She was previously employed in food services as a cook, cashier, and delivery driver in various restaurants. Her most recent employment was as a Machine Operator at Reser’s Fine Foods in Topeka, KS.

Roslynn was well known for her friendliness, kindness, and greeting everyone with her big grin and tight hug. She never met a stranger. She was a gifted, creative, and avid artist, drawing or tattooing as often as she could. She loved staying active through walking or running. She also enjoyed bowling, and was always ready to play a game of cards or dominoes! Roslynn was a bookworm and movie buff, often dropping a quote of one of her favorites at anytime. Roslynn was a very talented singer and used her gift for different choirs and entered multiple talent shows. Roslynn’s heart was which was purer, softer, and more expensive than 24 karat gold, the unconditional love she gave to everyone was priceless, and her greatest gift of all.

Roslynn was a beloved, precious, and blessed Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin, and Friend. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Muncie Cemetery.

Roz! I'll never forget you or the conversations we've had. I love you and the only thing that gives me peace in our loss of your human experience is knowing that without a doubt your soul is flourishing in your spiritual atmosphere. I'll see you out there one day. Until then enjoy this new experience. Love Regina

Lisa, Walter, dad and family, I cannot comprehend just how devastated you must be feeling over the loss of our Rosylnn. I am at a loss for words during this sorrowful time, my heart goes out to you as you deal with so much grief. Hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends and family for strength, and always remember how much you are loved. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal. With loving memories of Rosylnn, may she rest in peace.
We love you dearly! Aunt Helen

Roz was a amazing to me. She was so creative and she utilized the gift God gave her. I was incarcerated with Roz and she would create our Ramadan flyers and it was so touching the work she put out. I’m saddened by her departure but Roz will Rest In Power!! She was a gift Allah allowed us to behold

I’m so very sorry for your loss, you don’t know me but I was in topeka with roz. We worked togather at KCI Sewing and that’s were we met. She was the most kind, gentle person there. She welcomed me, always made sure I had a fan on me, which may not seem like much but is a very big deal in the summer no air. Also I did not have money so I couldn’t afford a personal radio so she always made sure she helped me to get a radio, program a station I liked, I wasent familiar with the stations in topeka and help me with anything I needed... I would be there today to pay my respects but I loaded another friend of 25 years here in Kansas City and her service is the same day, it breaks my heart. I just want the family to know what an amazing person she was to me. Thoughtful and beautiful inside and out....
