Obituary for Robert Griggs
Robert Lee Griggs, 85 of Leavenworth, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at his home, after 40 years of heart issues. He was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Boyd and Ida (Pretz) Griggs.
On Nov. 21, 1975, Robert married Karen Yates in Kansas City, Kan. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his daughters, Laura (Donnie) Hadley of Lee Summit, Mo., Melody (John) Bush of Leavenworth and Lisa Griggs; his granddaughters, Kaitlin (Shayne) Regan, Nicole (Ross) Dimm and Carleigh Bush; three great-grandchildren and his sister, Pauline Wyrick; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Griggs and Jim Griggs; two sisters, Janette Sexton and Margaret Szczygiel.
He retired from TWA where he worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. Robert loved reading the new paper and Sunday morning breakfast with his family. He also enjoyed Wednesday morning discussions over a cup of coffee with his friends.
Robert will be cremated, no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
