Obituary for Nicholas "Cruz" Burris
Nicholas “Cruz” Burris, 15, of Lansing, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, at home. He was born Nov. 15, 2007, in Shawnee Mission, Kan., the loving son of Andrew and Rhonda (Young) Burris.
Cruz is survived by his parents; his siblings, Justice Burris and Jaci Burris; grandparents, Nyla Young and Stella (Stan) Fimowics; aunts, Linda (Keith) Thompson and Angela Rios; uncles, Jason (Anita) Young and Bryan Young; and cousins, Kraig (Lindsay) Thompson, Leah (Kyle) Perkuhn and their son, Kody, Landon Young, Kacia Young, Aven Young, Carson Young, Rachel Young, Theresa Escamilla, Delfino Escamilla, Vincent Moreno, Victoria Moreno.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, FL Young and Frank Burris; a brother, Julian Burris; and an aunt, Brenda Young.
Cruz had a passion for The Beatles. He loved playing his guitar, piano and writing music. He enjoyed family vacations and he especially loved hanging around his friends
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Westside Family Church. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Lansing Educational Foundation - funds will be delivered to the Lansing Educational Foundation "The Cruz Burris 1 pill can kill program"
