Obituary for Michael Barnett

Michael Alan Barnett 61, of Leavenworth passed away at his home on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020.
“Mike”, as known to many, was born April 17, 1959, in Leavenworth, the son of Luther David and Mary (McIntyre) Barnett.

Mike was raised in Leavenworth and enlisted in the United States Army in 1977. He served for eight years, where he held duties that would later form his interests in aviation and flight simulation. He enjoyed building computers and loved to cook. Mike was also a lover of (loud) music. He enjoyed a range of genres from zydeco to country, to rock bands like Pink Floyd (one of his favorites).

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Luther David Barnett.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Barnett; brothers, David Barnett and Christopher Barnett of Leavenworth; children, Keith Barnett of Gardner Kan., Ember Sullivan of Miami, Fla., Brian Barnett of Talala, Okls. and Amanda Barnett of Lansing; grandchildren, Jacob Barnett, Eden Barnett, Nathan Doelz, Gavin Williams, Gunnar Barnett.

He will be inurned at Leavenworth National cemetery on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.
