Obituary for Maurice Kern III
Maurice Lawrence Kern III, also known as “Maury” and “Mo”, 60 of Leavenworth, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at Providence Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1960, in Leavenworth, Kan., the son of Maurice Jr. and Mary (Wacker) Kern.
He is survived by his mother; a son, Kyle (Haley) Kern; three daughters, Heidi Dennis, Melissa Votaw and Heather Votaw; his longtime girlfriend, Cindy Dennis; two sisters, Linda Ford (Brock Schalipp) and Lorraine Ford; three brothers, Gary, Richard (Jennifer) and Jerome Kern; ten grandchildren; two aunts; two cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Maurice was preceded in death by his father.
He loved watching nascar and riding motorcycles. Maurice also enjoyed mowing the grass, gardening and working in his yard.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
