Obituary for Lori Marler

Lori Diane (Cain) Marler, 48, of Leavenworth, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022. She was born July 31, 1974, in Camp Lejeune, N.C., the daughter of Terry Lee Cain and Ann Marie Bowen.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Marler of Lansing, Kan.; her mother, Ann Black (Donald) of McLouth, Kan.; three sons, Jeremy Marler (Emilie) of Kelso, Wash., Elijah Dossey (Nicole) of Lenexa, Kan., and Jacob Marler (Crystal Stipe) of Sheboygan, Wis.; a daughter, Abigail Dossey (Josh McMillin) of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Jaimie Cain-Greer (Stephen) of Lenexa, Kan., and Erika Cassel (David) of Bremerton, Wash.; four grandchildren, Addelyn, Raegan, Finnegan and Everett; and a large extended family with many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Terry Cain (Verla).

She received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kansas and her Master’s Degree from Park University.

Lori enjoyed reading, quilting and cross stitching. She also loved live music and spending time outdoors, including having a good bourbon on her deck with friends and family.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
