Obituary for Lillian Carter
Lillian Inez (Visor) Carter, 98, of Leavenworth, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Montserrat, Mo., the daughter of Clinnie B. and Emma (Campbell) Visor.
Lillian graduated in Montserrat, Mo., in 1940. She was the only graduate in her class.
On Sept. 23, 1947, Lillian married Harry L. "Tickle" Carter Sr. He preceded her in death on Sept 10, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and seven sisters.
Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her children, Harry L "Chuck" Carter Jr and Gloria (Tammy) Carter. Her grandchildren Troy Carter, Stacey Porter and Corey Carter. Her great grandchildren Corey Carter II, Mackenzie Porter and Jordan Porter. Her sister- in- law Janie Davis. All of Leavenworth Kansas.
Lillian and her sister opened Breez-n-Beauty hair salon in 1955. She continued operating the salon after her sister moved away and was later joined by her son until she retired at age 80.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
