Obituary for Kathleen Logan

Kathleen R. Logan, 99, of Lansing, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at the Medicalodge of Leavenworth. She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Wolcott, Kan., the daughter of Henry and Arnicie (Kilbury) Haling.

She married Robert R. Smith Jr. and from this union, they had four children. Kathleen divorced and later married the love of her life, Ernest Logan on July 25, 1961, in Van Buren, Ark. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children; two sons, Robert “Smitty” R. Smith III and Clyde D. Smith; a daughter, Judy D. Pritchett; four brothers, Harold, Charles “Elmer”, Louis and Deral; three sisters, Edith Haling, Myrtle Jones and Opal Wyer; a son-in-law, Donald Pritchett; and two grandchildren, Kelly Borneman and Clyde “Skip” D. Smith Jr.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Richard) A. Bolewski; a daughter-in-law, Carol Smith; three granddaughters, Michelle (John) Steele, Kimberly Starkey and Denise (Roger) Lemaster; two grandsons, Rich (Kim) Bolewski and Gene (Renee) Pritchett; 18 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She worked for Tarbet’s grocery for eight years, A and P Grocery for three years and Saint Mary’s College at the Motherhouse in housekeeping for 23 years.

Kathleen worked hard all her life and raised her children giving them the best of care. She leaves all of her family with many happy memories to cherish, and we will miss her so very much.

A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at Kickapoo Memorial Cemetery, 16778 Kickapoo Road, Leavenworth, KS, 66048.
