Obituary for Justin Donlon
Justin Luis Donlon, 47, of Leavenworth, a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and proud Army Soldier, passed away Sunday, Sept.18, 2022. He was born to Roger and Norma Donlon on April 22, 1975, in Columbus, Ga. Justin grew up in an Army family and lived at many stateside Army posts as well as Panama and Japan.
He was a 1993 graduate of Leavenworth High School and attended the Citadel in Charleston, S.C. and Park University in Parkville, Mo. Justin joined the Kansas Army National Guard in 1992 and was activated after 9/11/2001. Serving in Germany, at Fort Benning, Ga. and Fort Bragg, N.C. He was medically retired in 2010 and chose to return to Leavenworth to be with his daughter and family. His fondest memories as a child were at Ft. Leavenworth.
Justin is survived by his parents; daughter, Elise Claire Donlon; granddaughter, Willow Faye Donlon-Campbell; sister, Linda Danninger and husband, Paul; two brothers, Jason and wife, Lori and Derek Donlon; four nieces, Alicia, Justine and husband Adam, Jordan and Aurelia; one nephew, Griffin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He loved Siberian Huskies and had three of his own, Yancha I, Geisha and Yancha II, who preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, 4701 10th Avenue, Leavenworth, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 306 N. Broadway, Leavenworth, KS.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
