Obituary for Joseph Kowalewski

Joseph Duane Kowalewski, 45, of Leavenworth, went home to be with the Lord July 31, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 2, 1976, to Clarence Kowalewski Sr. and Melissa Mitchell-Wilson.

Joseph attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Leavenworth High School.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; father, Clarence Kowalewski Sr. (Sharon); mother, Melissa Mitchell-Wilson (Bill); one brother, C.J. (Mary Mount); and four children, Hannah Bond (Arthur Garza), Kaali Kowalewski, Joseph Tyler Kowalewski (Marilyn) and Maddison Hall. He was looking forward to the birth of two grandchildren this year. He is also survived by a niece, Angel Kowalewski; great nephews, Jayden and Braycen; and
many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joseph was a multi-talented young man who worked in concrete work, roofing and manufacturing. He was a big football fan, following the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed following his children’s sports activities.

Joe spent his life thinking and caring about others happiness before his own. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donors choice.
