John Robert Stiglmire, 85, of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Leavenworth, the son of George and Mildred (Knapp) Stiglmire.

On Feb. 12, 1968, John married Mary Evelyon “Evie” Andrews in Miami, Okla. She survives at the home. He is also survived by two sons, David (Linda) Stiglmire of Leavenworth and Patrick Kirk of Kansas City; two daughters, Gayle (Fred) Bergman and Megan Broom both of Leavenworth; a daughter-in-law, Kim Kirk of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Orzella Steed and Delores Edgeton; an aunt and uncle, Albert and Bertha Knapp; 11 grandchildren, Nichole Bergman, Stephanie Miller, Allison Hays, Lindsay Dark, Sarah Kirk, Eric, Ethan, Lauren and Travis Broom, Stephen and Zachary Kirk; six great-grandchildren, Haley Kasten, Olivia Mulberry, Waylon, Rhett and Tessa Miller, and Riley Hays; and many nieces and nephews.

John was a well known and loved Barber who served the Leavenworth community for almost 60 years, he was still cutting hair up until March 2020.

There will be a private graveside service for the family at a later date.
