Obituary for John Parry
John D. Parry, 80, of Lansing, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Providence Medical Center. He was born Oct. 12, 1941, the son of Dominick J. and Mary F. (Ricci) Parry
On Sept. 7, 1968, John married Bonita J. Hughes in Sioux Falls, S.D. She survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Jon D. Parry and wife, Kelly Parry of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Jill M. Frawley and husband, Michael of Charlestown, Mass.; a sister, Donna M. Phillips of Norwood, Mass; six grandchildren, Dominick M. Parry, Anna M. Parry, Andrew J. Parry, Michael P. Frawley, Kate M. Frawley and Sarah J. Frawley; and a niece, Amanda R. Williams and husband, Justin.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dominick J. Parry, Jr.
He cherished his family and spending time with his grandchildren. John loved soccer and watching sports. He also enjoyed knife making, going hunting and cooking. John's motto was to "Remember the 4 F's in life: Faith, Family, Friends and Food."
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 5, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, 4701 10th Ave. Leavenworth, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at St. Francis de Sales Church, 900 Ida St., Lansing, KS. Burial with military honors will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, KS. Memorials are suggested to Folds of Honor, P.O. Box 8246 Prairie Village, KS 66028.
