Obituary for John DiJoseph Jr.
John Anthony DiJoseph Jr., 84, of Leavenworth, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at KU Medical Center. He was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Joseph and Helen (Altieri) DiJoseph.
On March 10, 1965, John married Rosemarie Fraser. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald.
John is survived by two sons, John DiJoseph of Leavenworth and Stephen DiJoseph of Shawnee, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Devin, Sean and Sara.
He served in the United States Army for over 20 years. John then went to work at Walmart and later owned and operated John’s Stop and Shop.
He enjoyed going to play Bingo at the Eagles and Poker at Bennys.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with praying of the rosary at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 2., 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
