Obituary for Jill Riester
Jill D. Riester, 67, of Lansing, Kan., passed away Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, in Kansas City, Kan. Jill was born July 21, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo. to Barbara and John Davis.
She graduated from William Woods University in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in home economics.
Jill married the love of her life, William “Bill” Riester, III on Aug. 7, 1976, and promptly moved to Germany for Bill’s first tour of duty with the Army, igniting a lifelong passion for travel. Jill and Bill were blessed with two children, Amanda “Mandy” and Alexander “Alex”, around whom their lives revolved. She was a faithful and passionate follower of Christ, evident to every single person who was blessed to meet her. She lived to serve and love others through her Bible study, baking and mentoring for Gift of Life and the PKD Foundation. Jill’s favorite memories were with her family at the Lake of the Ozarks for the Fourth of July and spending Christmas on Sanibel Island.
She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter, Mandy; son, Alex and daughter-in-law, Kaitlyn.
A service celebrating her life will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at Westside Family Church in Lansing, Kansas. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests donations be made to the PKD Foundation.
