Obituary for Jasmine Torrain (Torrain)

Jasmine Elise Torrain,17, a resident of Leavenworth, Kan. departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 11th at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
She was born in "Tallahassee, Fla., on July 19, 2005, the daughter of Joseph and Dawn Torrain. Jasmine attended school for 12 years in the Leavenworth Public Schools. She recently completed her high school requirements. Jasmine was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also a Leavenworth High School Cheerleader, a member of the Interact Club, Art Club, Student Leadership and on the Senior Class Cabinet. Jasmine worked part-time at Finish Line where she was a sales associate. She was very creative, she loved art and she loved to travel. Jasmine's life ambition was to attend the Kansas City Art Institute and pursue a career in Art Therapy. She wanted to share her love for art and to give back to others. Although she did not get to pursue the art career, she did give back. The doctors, nurses and staff honored Jasmine as she left this earth a hero. She was able to donate her kidneys to save the lives of two other individuals.
Jasmine was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Joe P. and Allean Gaines and Norman Elder; and paternal grandmother, Nina Torrain.
Jasmine is survived by her parents, Joseph and Dawn Torrain; her grandparents, Carolyn and Anthony Woods and Joe E. Torrain; her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, the doctors, nurses and staff of Children's Mercy Kansas City and St. Louis Children's Hospital, teachers and the many friends who had the great pleasure of crossing paths with her.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. A funeral service will also be Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Ocean Springs, Miss., at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Jasmine will be laid to rest at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.
