Ida Susan Beying, 67, of Easton, Kan., died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at home. She was born Nov. 28, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Archie and Elizabeth (Gurss) Chance.
On June 7, 1975, Susan married Larry Beying. He survives at the home. She is also survived by three sons, Matthew Beying and wife, Amy and their son, Elijah of Lincoln, Neb., Joshua Beying and wife, Sarah and their children, Sebastian, Giana, Xavier, Ambrose, Isabelle and Edith of Garden Plain, Kan., and Michael Beying and wife, Ashley and their children, Caleb, Rhett and Brigham of Melvern, Kan.; her daughter, Rebecca Stewart and husband, Jason and their children, Grace, Andrew, Jacob, Cale and Hayes of Easton, Kan.; and her brother, Ron Chance and his wife, Pam of Easton, Kan.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Isaac Beying.
She received an Associate’s Degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College, a Bachelor's Degree from Fort Hays State and a Master’s Degree from the University of Mary all in nursing.
Susan worked her entire career at Cushing Memorial Hospital. She worked as a nurse and manager of the OR Department and later as the Chief Nursing Officer of the Hospital.
After retirement her life was dedicated to loving and spoiling her grandchildren and traveling with Larry and her closest friends. Susan loved the sun and the beach as well as a good bottle of wine anywhere or anytime.
Susie spent hours upon hours crafting her collection of flower beds and gardens. She grew every plant with a purpose and admired plants for their color.
Visitation beginning with the praying of the rosary will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Lawrence Church in Easton, Kan. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Lawrence Church or Kansans for Life.
