Obituary for Herbert Cason

Herbert Wendell Cason, Sr., 69, died Saturday, May 9, 2020. He was born in Glasgow, Mo. on Aug. 30, 1950 to William Robert Cason and Ella Mae (White) Cason.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Ivan Cason and Jerry Lewis; and a
Granddaughter, Zariah Cason.

Herbert moved to Kansas City, Mo. with his family at an early age. He attended Banneker and
Yeager Elementary School and Paseo High School in Kansas City, Mo.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969 and retired from the Air Force in 1989. Herbert also retired at Hallmark Cards in Leavenworth Kan. after 23 years.

In October 1971, Herbert married Thelma P. Bynum in Glasgow, Mo. She survives at the home. HE is also survived by a daughter, Alina (Paul) Evans of Hampton, Va.; three sons, Herbert Cason, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., William C. Cason of Quartz, Calif. and Marcus S. (Paige) Cason of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Billie Sue Cason of Anchorage Ala. and Jacqueline (Ed) Smith of Glasgow, Mo.; grandchildren: Kenneth, Kwenton, Yasmin, Genesis, Marley, Marcus Jr., Isaiah, Taylor, Kaliyah, Dominic; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends that loved him very much.

Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed dominos, bid whist, The Temptations, old
school soul and gospel music. He was the biggest fan of The Oakland (Las Vegas) Raiders
football!

Services will be private. Herbert will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Arrangements in care of R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
