Obituary for Henry Valverde

Henry Anthony “Tony” Valverde, 46, of Leavenworth, died unexpectedly, Saturday, May 23, 2020. He was born March 1, 1974, at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, the son of Marco Toro-Valverde and Linda (Smart) Valverde.

Tony was a lifelong Lansing Lion, graduating from Lansing High School In 1992. He studied HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Appliance Technology at Johnson County Community College. At the time of his death, Tony was a boiler room operator at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth.

He is survived by his parents; his two children, Victoria and Lucas of the home; four brothers, Marco Jr. (Gwyn), Scot (Candace), David (Casey) and Keith; seven nieces and five nephews.

Tony loved being with his family, watching sports, coaching his kids’ teams and spending time outdoors fishing and mushroom hunting.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to his children, Victoria and Lucas Valverde.
