Obituary for Glen Boney

Glen M. Boney, 67, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2020, in Leavenworth, Kan., at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Biloxi, Miss., May 21, 1953.

He married Catherine Malpass on Aug. 11, 1973, in Biloxi, Miss. Glen was a career Army military officer serving 24 years in defense of our nation. He was very patriotic and proud of his service to our nation, which included 4 overseas tours spanning almost 10 years. Following his military service, he retired from a second career at Sprint Corporation at the National Headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. Glen had a gentle, kind, and loving soul.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Lazaro and Mercedes Seymour Boney; and his brother, John Vincent Boney.

Glen is survived by his wife Catherine Malpass Boney of Leavenworth, Kan.; two daughters, Emily and husband Craig Langley of Blue Springs, Mo., and Amanda and husband Bradley Boutwell of Arlington, Tenn.; a son, Jeremy Boney of Leavenworth, Kan; three brothers, James and Carol Boney of Houston, Texas, Thomas and Anita Boney of Biloxi Miss., and Stephen and Sandra Boney of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Belinda and husband James Corley of Biloxi, Miss., and Janet Boney of Atlanta, Ga; and three grandchildren, Aubrey Birk, Alana Boutwell and Nolan Langley.

A funeral mass will begin at 1 p.m. (CST) on Friday, November 13, 2020, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. (CST) at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, in Leavenworth, Kan.
