Obituary for Gladys Courter

Gladys Louise (Robertson) Courter, 84, of Leavenworth, Kan., went to see her maker Jan. 25, 2022. She was born Jan. 18, 1938, in Atchison, Kan, the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Kopp) Robertson.

Gladys grew up in Oskaloosa, Kan. and graduated from Easton High School.

On Jan. 1, 1958, She married Ralph Courter in Leavenworth. Gladys is survived by her husband;
a daughter, Linda (Robert) Johnson; a son, Randall (Barbie) Courter; grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Mallonee, Dennis (Kindra) Martin, Nick (Erika) Martin and Alex Courter; seven great-grandchildren, Cody, Brittney, Brandon, Alyssa, Isaiah, Cruz and Quinn; one great-great granddaughter, Maelene; three brothers, Irvin, Leroy and George; and two sisters, Mary and Rita.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Debra Diane Mallonee; two sisters, Beatrice and Agnes; and five brothers, Frank, Leland, Orville, Clarence and Cecil.

Gladys was a member of Community of Christ Church. She worked in Federal Civil Service at Ft. Leavenworth and retired from the IG office there after many years. Gladys was a devoted mother and always went above and beyond to help her family and others and to spread her love.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at the R. L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
