Obituary for Esther Stafford
Esther M. Stafford “GG”, 94, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Sarasota, Fla., where she resided since 2018. Esther was born July 7, 1926, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Leo and Mahala (Smith) Seymour.
She married the love of her life, the late Luther “Luke” W. Stafford in 1946. She was also predeceased by her sister, Cleo Rush; and her brother, Charlie Seymour.
Esther is survived and will be missed immensely by her three children, Becky Stafford Stansberry (David), Anderson, Ind., Christy Stafford (Lisa) Parrish, Fla., and Neil Stafford (Ann) Leavenworth, Kan. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Seymour, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She and Luke lived a full life in Leavenworth, Kan., enjoying their Lake of the Ozarks home for many years, wintering in Arizona, California and Florida, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
Esther will be remembered for many things, but her humor, kindness and beautiful smile will be forever in our hearts and minds.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2021, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Esther’s memory to the America Heart Association (www.heart.org).
