Obituary for Deborah "Debbie" Sherretts

Deborah Sue Sherretts, 71, of Leavenworth, died on Sunday, April 14, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 27, 1952, in Leavenworth, Kan., the daughter of Charles Richard and Marveta Maxine (Mowry) Turner.
In 1970, she graduated from Leavenworth High School and went on to work for Hallmark cards as a machine operator for 40 years.
In 1979, Debbie married the love of her life, Rick Sherretts at First Christian Church in Leavenworth. He survives at the home. She is also survived by her children, twins Marcus Sherretts of Leavenworth and Amanda Sherretts of Lawrence, Kan.; a brother, Jeffrey (Teresa) Turner of Leavenworth; sister, Cheryl (Ernest) Allen of Easton, Kan.; sister-in-law, Lynn Turner of Easton, Kan.; Kim Sherretts of Topeka, Kan; two grandchildren, Madailein Walter- Sherretts and Evan Sherretts
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gregory Turner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Delene Sherretts; sister-in-law, Shirley Sherretts
Debbie enjoyed spending time with family, baking, cooking and bird watching. She was an avid shopper, especially at QVC and enjoyed collecting hallmark ornaments. Some of her passions were spoiling her many pets, watching K-State, Chiefs, and Royals with her husband.
No services are planned and a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorials are suggested to the Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S.)
