Obituary for Dalinda Spear

Dalinda Leigh-Ann Black Spear was born to Danny and Glenda Black on October 11, 1978 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, MO. She married Patrick Keith Spear on September 6, 2002 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Platte City, MO.
Dalinda passed away on March 6, 2023 at Villa St. Francis Nursing Home in Olathe, Kansas due to Huntington’s Disease. She was 44 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Danny Earl Black. Surviving relatives include her husband- Patrick Keith Spear, sons- Patrick Keith Spear jr., Preston Kyle Spear, and Parker Kaden Spear, mother- Glenda Black, sister- Miranda Kay Black Heathman, brother- Danny Earl Black jr.,
Dalinda started classical ballet when she was 3 years old continuing until she was 12 years old, performing in the Nutcracker at the Music Hall in Kansas City, MO in 1990 on toe shoes. She was a captain of the Pom Pom Squad at North Platte High School in Dearborn, MO. She earned a scholarship to BYU in engineering. Dalinda was always near the top of her class in academics, graduating 4th in her class in 1997. She worked for Shrock Realty in Kansas City, MO and took nursing classes in her spare time. Dalinda’s greatest love was being a wife and a mother.
Dalinda went to seminary at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Platte City for 4 years straight. She was a spiritual giant and continued her faith enduring to the end with humility and love for her Savior Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father.
Dalinda is loved so much by her family and many others. She will be missed by us all.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2700 Ensign Dr, Platte City, MO. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, Kan.
