Obituary for Cynthia Moore

Cynthia Jean (Haynes) Moore, 76, of Leavenworth, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022. She was born July 9, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo., to parents Inez (Bradford) Haynes and Sidney Haynes Sr.

Cynthia attended elementary, junior and senior high school in the Kansas City, Mo., public school system. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. Cynthia always enjoyed working outside of the home. She worked for the federal government for several years and retired from outpatient medical records at Munson Army Hospital in 2013. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, studying the Holy Bible and gaming on her tablet.

Cynthia married Roger Dean Moore, her high school sweetheart, on June 4, 1966. They were united in marriage for 48 years until Roger’s passing in 2014. Their union produced two children, Rochelle and Roger. Cynthia was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She was also an amazing dog parent to Spot, Fuzzy, Shay, Pee Wee and Scratch; and dog Grammy to Jasper.

In 1975, Cynthia gave her life to Christ when she was baptized into the Church of Christ. She was a lifelong member and worshipped at the Prospect and Stony Point congregations. Cynthia was a faithful servant of the Lord and always enjoyed fellowship with brothers and sisters of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Moore; her mother, Inez Fielder; her step-father, Ralph Fielder; her biological father, Sidney Haynes Sr.; her brother, Sidney Haynes Jr.; her sisters, Trudy Price and Mary Martin, her niece, Deborah Renee Harrison; and her nephew, Michael Fielder.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Rochelle Moore and Roger D. Moore II (Tarryne); her grandchildren, Te’Vieon Moore and Rasaan Moore; her great-grandchildren, Kaisen Moore and Khari Moore; her siblings, Priscilla Reed (Simon), Margaret “Margie” Haynes, Kenneth Fielder, Michelle Garcia (Gary), Terrence Fielder (Christy), Ralph Fielder (Wanda) and Patrice Fielder; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
