Obituary for Cody Clark

Cody James Clark, age 28, of Leavenworth, died January 31, 2023. He was born October 19, 1994, in the United States Army Hospital, in Wurzberg, Germany, the son of James “Jim” Clark and Lorianne “Lori” Clark.

Cody graduated from Leavenworth High School in 2012 and went on to earn an associate’s degree in automotive technology from Highland Community College in Atchison, Kan.

After Highland, Cody became a mechanic at a local auto dealership but found his way to construction and mechanical work. Cody worked for several years with Leavcon construction in Lansing, before finding an opportunity on Fort Leavenworth in the Director of Public Works (DPW). Cody continued with construction on Fort Leavenworth, working on and maintaining the historic buildings on the fort.

His favorite pastime was anything with action. As a young boy his passion was for skateboarding, convincing his parents to build a 20’ foot long 8’ high skateboard half-pipe. Cody even helped design the Leavenworth Skate Park in 2009. His passions grew to include Razor riding and anywhere there was a vertical challenge to concur.

Cody is survived in death by his parents Jim and Lori Clark of Leavenworth, Kan.; his brothers, Ben Forsythe of Lihue, Hawaii, and Patrick Clark of Leavenworth, Kan.; his girlfriend, Keely Brown and her son, Brantley of Leavenworth, Kan.; and his most beloved Catahoula Leopard dog, sweet Maggie.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 4 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. A celebration of life will follow at the Leavenworth Community Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hope Inc. Hope Spay Neuter Clinic, 728 Cherokee St, Leavenworth KS 66048.
