Claude H. Hinton Jr., 81, of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center. He was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Lexington, Mo., the son of Claude H. and Mylissa Lorene Hinton.
On Nov. 4, 1979, Claude Jr. married Myong Cho in Lexington, Mo. She survives at the home. He is also survived by four daughters, Donna Louise (Scott) Neal, Deborah Sue Frey, Melissa Sue Hinton and Lisa Marie (Ryan) Kenny; a brother, James Hinton; a sister, Patricia Goers; 12 grandchildren, Dani Frey, David Frey, Christopher Frey, Katie Neal, Michael Neal, Matthew Stephens, Michael Stephens, Maximus Kenny, Dexter Kenny, Aubrey Williams, Isaiah Williams and Jasmine McCoy.
Claude Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Cindy Turner; and a daughter, Pamela L. Hinton.
He served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. Claude also served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1981 before retiring as a Master Sergeant. After retirement, Claude went to work for the Federal Civil Service as a computer analyst.
A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at First Korean Presbyterian Church of Kansas City, 8804 Grant Ave., Overland Park, KS, 66212. Graveside service with military honors will be Monday, May 1, 2023, at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
