Obituary for Clarence Kroll

Clarence “CJ” Kroll, 76, of Easton, Kan., passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, after a lengthy battle with COPD. CJ was born in Leavenworth, Kan., to Clarence M. and Frances (Holtgraver) Kroll on July 21, 1945.

He graduated from Immaculata High School in 1963. CJ was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked at Leavenworth Steel and Missouri Valley Steel before becoming a full-time farmer.

CJ was preceded in death by his parents.

On September 7, 1973, he was united in marriage to Carol (Wood) Kroll. They built a wonderful life together. CJ was a hard worker, a devoted family man, avid antique collector, loved playing cards and spending time with friends. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his two sons, Jeff (Lisa) of Pierre, S.D. and Stephen (Jennifer) of Easton, Kan.; a daughter, Kelly (Jamie) Funk of Atchison, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandsons with a third on the way.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the R. L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph of the Valley Church, with Rev. William McEvoy as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Easton, Kan. Memorials are suggested to Saint Joseph of the Valley Church or Christ's Peace House of Prayer.
