Obituary for Charlyn Myhand

Charlyn “Lyn” Marie Myhand, 64, of Easton, Kan., passed away, March 12, 2020. She was born May 8, 1955, in Leavenworth, to the late Charles Boeppler and Bobbie (Lonergan) Boeppler.

After graduating from Leavenworth Senior High, it was Lyn’s love of the sun, ocean and her high school sweetheart, Brad Myhand, that took her to California and Hawaii before returning to Kansas where they got married on Feb. 11, 1983, and started a family. Her family was her passion and she absolutely adored her grandson, Maddox. Lyn loved life and enjoyed spending time with her large extended family. She liked to garden and had a taste for adventure. She could never turn down a ripcord or parasailing. She never met a stranger and had the ability to make people laugh and leave her happier than when they arrived.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Noel (Justin) Grabouski and Sara (Dustin) Duncan; her grandson; siblings, Sue Kroll, Jan (John) McLaughlin, Elcy Ezell, Rebecca Schmidt and Bret Boeppler; a brother-in-law, Joe Myhand; sisters-in-law, Sirleen (Norm) Ghigleri, Teresa Myhand and Cheryl Myhand; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Lyn was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles Boeppler; father and mother-in-law, Sirl and Dorothy Myhand; and two brothers-in-law, Alan Fink and Steven Myhand.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2020, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery (31151 207th St., Easton, KS, 66020). In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.
