Obituary for Carl Norwood
Carl Cannady Norwood, 66, of Lansing, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at his home. He was born July 29, 1954, in Westoff, Texas.
He served in the United States Army and Retired from the United States Army Reserves. Carl worked as a Postmaster for many years before retiring in 2012.
Carl is survived by his two daughters, Kaila Renee Stephens of Leavenworth, Kan. and Karla Michelle Norwood of Houston, Texas; a brother, Willie Cannady of Victoria, Texas; and three grandchildren, Mehki, Mason and Mariyah Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Terry.
Carl loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, playing poker, working out and eating healthy.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Due to COVID 19, the graveside committal service with military honors will be rendered at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with a private family burial to follow.
