Obituary for Bruce Hollister
Bruce Leland Hollister, 61, of Leavenworth, died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Providence Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1960, in Hiawatha, Kan., to George and Clara (Harman) Hollister.
On April 30, 1993, Bruce married the love of his life, Joan Forge, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leavenworth, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Leland of Hiawatha, Kan.; granddaughter, Elizabeth; three siblings, Carol, Brett and Brenda; a brother-in-law, Keith A. Forge of Leavenworth; two sisters-in-law, Janet M. Forge (Michael) and Julie A. Burkhart (Philip).
Bruce worked at Lansing Correctional Facility for over 35 years where he was the 1st Sergeant of Transportation.
He enjoyed motorcycles and fine foods. Bruce also enjoyed traveling and going places in his RV. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that loved taking care of his family and spending time with them. Bruce also had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to his wife, Joan Hollister, to help with medical expenses. Masks are encouraged.
