Obituary for Bob Stalter

Bob Stalter, 59, of Leavenworth, passed from this life into eternal life, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022. He was born Dec. 23, 1962, in Marshall Mo.

Bob spent the first eleven years of his life living in Independence and Grain Valley Mo., loved dearly by his mother, Judith Cary and his first father, Thomas Alfrey.

When Bob was 13, his mother married his second father, John Stalter, who also loved him dearly. They moved to Lansing, Kan., where Bob graduated from Lansing High School in 1981.

In 1984, Bob married Lisa Thompson and they had two amazing sons, Eric and Shane Stalter.

Bob spent the last 20 years faithfully employed at Custom Truck and Equipment in Kansas City, Mo. He loved his work and he loved his customers, but he really came to life when God blessed him with three beautiful grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Shane; his grandparents, Ercel and Blanche Cary, Elsie and Howard Coe, Florence and Murray Stalter and Helen and Elwood Alfrey.

Bob is survived by his parents, John and Judith Cary Stalter and Thomas and Sandra Alfrey; his son, Eric Stalter and wife, Mandy; three grandchildren, Aly, Riley and Ethan; nine siblings, Carrie Stillian, Deana Miller, Jeremy Stalter, Michelle Stalter, Bradshaw Cowen, Elizabeth Alfrey, Scott Alfrey, James Tucker and Jamie Dewey-Mariotti; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

His presence with us on this earth will be deeply missed. We love you Bob.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Leavenworth County Humane Society.
