Obituary for Alma Young
Alma R. Young, 86, formerly of Leavenworth, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1934, in Hays, Kan., the daughter of Melchoir and Matilda (Dreiling) Dorzweiler.
On Jan. 14, 1956, Alma married William Young. She is survived by her loving husband; three children, Yvonne Craighead of Bozeman, Mont., Elaine (Robert) Hiatt of Topeka, Kan., and Steve (Denise) Young of Overland Park, Kan; a sister, Mary Coleman Brown; five grandchildren, Jessica Heagler, Matthew Hiatt, Rachel Hiatt, Kyle Young and Paige Young; and a great-grandchild, Liam Hiatt.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Lorene Trentman, Adrian Dorzweiler, Norman Dorzweiler and her infant twin brother, Robert.
Alma enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and decorating her family home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be private. Cremation to follow the services.
