Obituary for Aaron Drybread

Aaron Marc Drybread, 50, of Leavenworth, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at home. He was born Dec. 30, 1971, to Charles and Frances “Francie” (Ornelas) Drybread in Tulsa, Okla., the oldest of two children.

He graduated from Temple Christian School in Guam class of 1989.

Aaron served in the U.S. Navy. He was a petty officer 2nd class with a specialty in Cryptologic
Technology. He enjoyed traveling the world and learning all he could during his time in the Navy. He received his bachelor's degree from Friend’s University in organizational management and was a part of teaching history through Wichita State University.

He was passionate about everything he did, especially his music. He wrote lyrics and played
the bass guitar professionally for most of his young adult life. He was the biggest history buff
you’d ever meet. Aaron didn’t really care if you were interested in the topic, he was there to
teach you and share his passions.

When Aaron loved he loved with all he had, but if he didn’t like you odds are you knew it pretty
quick. Aaron’s love for his dogs, his children, grandchildren and his loving wife, Sarah, was
apparent to everyone he met.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Sarah; daughters, Shelby (Collin) Engraf, Alexandra “Ali” (Miguel) Bryant; sons, Gage (Savannah) Leihy and Hunter (Gabrielle) Leihy; grandchildren, Genevieve and Odin Engraf and JoLynn “Jo” Leihy; brother, Adam (Angela) Drybread; nephew, Aiden Drybread; his beloved dogs, Fluffy, MoJo,and Finlee; and many other family and friends that he cherished and loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his dearest dogs, Boomer and Gabby.

A celebration of life will be from 1 to 3 p.m., with military honors at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leavenworth County Humane Society in honor of Aaron.
